Real Sociedad reach agreement for Chelsea star

La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have tied up an agreement to secure reinforcements for the club’s defensive ranks for the duration of the season ahead. This comes amid the understanding that La Real are all set to land Mamadou Sarr from Chelsea.
Stopper Sarr for his part put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2025. From here, the 20-year-old was farmed out on loan to French outfit Strasbourg, only to be recalled during the winter window.
Following the arrival of Xabi Alonso in West London this summer, Sarr was subsequently informed that he does not feature in the plans of his parent club for the coming campaign.
On the lookout for reinforcements at the back, the aforementioned Real Sociedad therefore swooped to open discussions with their Stamford Bridge counterparts.
And as alluded to above, over the last 24 hours, these talks are understood to have borne fruit. As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano :
‘Real Sociedad reach verbal agreement to sign Mamadou Sarr on loan from Chelsea, here we go! Clubs to prepare paperwork after (Chelsea vs Fulham) game.’
The one-year loan deal is not expected to feature an option to buy.
