Barcelona in transfer talks with Sunderland

The board at La Liga champions Barcelona have opened negotiations over a potential late-window transfer agreement with their counterparts at Premier League outfit Sunderland.
This comes amid a sudden push on the part of the latter to bring Marc Casadó to the Stadium of Light.
Midfielder Casadó is of course widely expected to bring a close to his time on Barcelona’s books before the summer is out. No longer in the plans of Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick, the 22-year-old has been identified as a necessary sacrifice to raise funds for use on reinforcements elsewhere in Flick’s ranks.
To date, a whole host of clubs from across the continent and beyond have in turn been credited with an interest in Casadó’s services. And as alluded to above, this week, one such suitor have opened talks over the terms of a deal.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo , citing English outlet The Guardian:
‘Sunderland have entered the race for the player and are currently negotiating his arrival.’
Alongside the Black Cats, from the Premier League alone, all of Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been named as admirers of the Spanish international’s talents.
